Two Nippon, Morimura Porcelain Ground Pedestal Vases

Circa 1915-1920.
Both with additional dark blue grounds to neck, ankles and feet.The first, cast in two parts, with applied upright gilt handles to sides, under waisted neck over elongated globular body, above waisted ankle, over spreading round foot. Painted with dark blue elements to neck, ankles and feet. Polychrome enamel painted with early spring scene of trees by water to front and back cartouches. The second, cast in several parts, with applied gilded bracket handles close to the body, terminating in snakes heads to shoulders. Body under domed lid with gilt knop, waisted neck, ovular body, on waisted ankle above spreading round foot. Painted in polychrome enamels with a continuous scene of mountains above river in a verdant landscape. Both vases decorated with a profusion of raised, rouletted and brocaded gilt designs, including faux pearls.
Blue Morimura in maple leaf, to first, blue NIPPON in leaf, to second. Both with Hand-Painted. All to undersides.
Approximate dimensions: 14 H. and 16 7/8 inches high, respectively..
Condition: Very good condition. Minor glaze and enamel flaws to green ground. Wear to gilt handles. The knop to the second vase broken off and glued back on, now regilt the neck with a filled chip, now regilt, and handles also regilt.
