Oakland

The Oakland Museum Women's Board is a California non-profit public benefit corporation whose sole purpose is to provide services and funds to the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA). Founded in 1955, The Women's Board has been providing funds and services to OMCA for over 50 years. They have contributed more than $18 million in support of OMCA educational programs, acquisitions to the permanent galleries, exhibitions, facilities, capital improvements, and more. Nearly 35,000 school children and teachers annually visit the Museum. Our financial funding has helped enhance their OMCA experience, and we are proud to have backed such impressive exhibits as Pixar, 25 Years of Animation, A Walk in the Wild: Continuing John Muir's Journey, The 1968 Project, and the annual community celebration honoring the Days of the Dead tradition.

Guide

Guide Dogs for the Blind provides enhanced mobility to qualified individuals through partnership with dogs whose unique skills are developed and nurtured by dedicated volunteers and a professional staff. Established in 1942, Guide Dogs for the Blind continues its dedication to quality student training services and extensive follow-up support for graduates. Our programs are made possible through the teamwork of staff, volunteers and generous donors. Services are provided to students from the United States and Canada at no cost to them.

Presidential

The Potomac operates on a very small budget of half a million dollars a year. We derive most of our income from our operation of the Presidential Yacht's cruises, our Friends of the Potomac, and a small group of corporate sponsors. We are not subsidized by government funds. Because we are run by volunteers (1.5 staff members work to maintain the ship and administration, and our professional crew is paid seasonally), our employment overhead is very small, and administrative cost comprise only 8% of our overall budget. Remember us in your estate or enlist your corporation, organization or association to offer a grant to support our educational programs. Remember, 92 cents of every dollar donated goes to keeping the ship open for educational cruises at no cost to classroom groups.

Greyhound

Greyhound Friends for Life is a nonprofit, volunteer greyhound rescue, adoption, and advocacy organization, dedicated to finding loving and qualified homes in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California for former racing greyhounds. The reward for adopters is the joy of sharing their homes with an affectionate, loyal, and grateful companion who will be a friend for life.
