Enoch Wood Transfer Printed Sauce Tureen American Views

Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England.
Circa 1825 - 1830.
Glazed pearlware ovular footed sauce tureen with two scroll handles to sides, domed cover, shaped ovular stand with handles to sides, and a ladle with birds head handle terminate, all transfer-printed in deep to medium blue enamel . The scene on the tureen body printed with PASSAIC FALLS / STATE OF NEW JERSEY, and the underplate with PASS IN THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS.
The tureen body and the undertray transfer-printed in cobalt blue with eagle and stylized banner, E PLURIBUS UNIM over stylized flag within clouds.
Approximate dimensions: 7 1/4 H. including the underplate the tureen and underplate both 8 W., 6 W. The ladle 8 L.

Condition: Some kiln speckling to interior of tureen base, the mould nearly split in half to underside, obscured to the base, minor glaze irregularities to all four items. Some minor areas of wear, glaze loss, light hairlines to glaze. The ladle has some smudges to underside bowl and is in otherwise very good condition. Excellent vibrancy and clarity to the prints and to the rich cobalt glaze. Typical wear to foot.
