White Nephrite Jade Dragon Belt Hook

The lustrous stone is carved with a dragons head forming the hook, facing an reticulated sinuous chilong. The underside has a flat oval knob. The stone is of an even white and pale green color. The jade belt hook was late repurposed as a handle for a silver letter opener, bearing an incised Gump Co. Sterling mark.
Length of the jade: approximately 3 inches (7.6 cm) the length of total: 8 inches (20.3 cm).
