The figure group Under the Apple Tree, including a young gentleman with watch in hand, above a seated woman with flowers, both near a blooming apple tree, to the rear, a young girl picking an apple, near her basket. All on a rocky mounded base, above a Neoclassical style lower base. The original model by Michel Victor Acier (1736-1799), from the year 1772. The single figure of a female water carrier, with a basket of fruit on her left arm. On a low mounded base. Both painted in polychrome enamels and with gilt highlights.
Underglaze blue crossed swords mark and incised D94 to the group, impressed 110 and enamel 13. to base underside. Underglaze blue crossed swords mark and incised 8 to the single figure, impressed 58 and gilt 67. to underside of her base.
Approximate dimensions: 10 H. x 6 W. x 5 1/4 D., the figural group. 6 1/2 H., the water carrier figure..
Condition: Both figures are in good to very good condition, with small chips and losses to flowers and leaves to both. One leaf from tree broken off and present. The little girls right hand is missing leaves and / or fruit within the figural group. Loss to basket handle.
