Shepherdess, together with figural groups of The Rabbit Vendor and The Poultry Vendor originally modelled by Peter Reinicke as part of the Cris de Paris series. The Shepherdess modeled in 18th Century style dress, standing, with left arm embracing a leaping lamb, with walking stick in right hand, all on rococo-molded scrolling base,with tree stump to rear. The other figures, in colorful garb, modeled on low scroll molded bases.
Marked to lower rear base of the Shepherdess, underglaze blue crossed swords. Interior toward base incised 4 and 153. Underglaze blue 80. To the underside of the figure of The Rabbit Vendor, underglaze blue crossed swords marks, incised 23 and impressed 97, iron red 44. To the underside of the figure of The Poultry Vendor, underglaze blue crossed swords marks with blue dot, incised 11, impressed 98, and iron red 82.
Approximate dimensions: 12 H., the Shepherdess 5 3/4 H., the two smaller figures..
Condition: Overall condition from good to very good. Restoration to hat, parts of hands of Shepherdess, minor touch-ups to paint. On the Poultry Vendor, there is loss to right pointer finger.
