Late 19th Century.
French Chinese Export Porcelain style oval two handled soup tureen and cover, painted in polychrome enamels with American eagle. Instead of E Pluribus Unum, the motto in the Eagles beak read, E Piuieus Unum, together with a near pair of French Chinese Export Porcelain style baskets, painted en suite to the tureen, with the monogram JR within a blue and gilt swag to basket interior faces.
Approximate dimensions: 11 1/4 H. x 12 1/2 W. x 9 D., the tureen, the baskets 4 to 4 1/4 H. x 10 3/4 to 11 W. x 9 3/4 W. .
Condition: The tureen with crazing and hairlines to sides and interior base. Minor manufacturing flaw, overgilt, to one tureen handle. The baskets in very good condition, with minor wear to gilding and enamels, minimal kiln speckling.
