Minimalist 60s design mixed wood chess set, with the mixed wood board having smooth recesses carved into the ends. The pieces have green felt bottoms and are all carved from one piece of wood, with the exception of the knights.
No markings.
Approximate dimensions: Board 16 1/2 long x 16 1/4 wide x 1 inches thick. King 4 5/8 inches high..
The Espenet studio has provided us with a photo of the shop log showing the original purchase, single owner. Provided by Tripp Carpenter, son of Arthur Espenet Carpenter II.
Condition: Small marks to the playing surface, such as small white spots, and some residue. Similar miniscule white spots to one edge. The bottom of the board shows more white marks and minor wear. The pieces have minor wear to the felt bottoms.
