Dated 1879.
Painted red earthenware almost certainly modeled after a Haviland example. The lightly tapering neck sloping to ovoid body, painted in polychrome enamels with bold spray of geraniums on a mottled red ground, the flowers and leaves rendered in high impasto and realistic hues.
The underside base inscribed butterfly, script letters L Mc L 100 within a circle, Cincinnatti, 1879.
Approximate dimensions: 18 3/4 H..
Condition: Very good condition, with light flaking to glaze at mouth, minor scratching to enamels, the foot with minor wear.
