The calico print with colorful garlands of stylized flowers and stems, with blue silk taffeta appliqued to collar, sleeve hems, faux side pockets, and dress front. Front double button closure. Lined in deep red silk and brown polished cotton.
Circa 1840 and later.

Condition: The dress appears to have been reworked, with a later blue silk pleated front panel inserted between the two sides. Overall condition is good. Short tears / holes at shoulder seams and to one or two spots of self cording. One button absent. Lining to sleeve hems is shot.
