Harry and Lou Epstein, (English, active 1920s - 1950s) Art Deco parcel cream painted and birds-eye maple veneer dining suite comprising: dining table, six red and gold brocade upholstered chairs two of which have barrel backs, and a bar cabinet, (two keys and has missing possibly glass tops.)
Approximate dimensions: Cabinet 43 3/4 high x 72 wide x 23 inches deep, chairs 36 1/2 high x 20 1/2 wide x 26 inches deep, table 31 high x 72 wide x 36 14 inches deep..
There were a total of five Epstein brothers, whose father Morris emigrated to London at the end of the 19th Century. Morris Epstein started the furniture business that blossomed under the creative designs of Harry and Lou. The three other brothers helped market and sell the furniture, eventually expanding the Epsteins trade to Manchester Glasgow.
Condition: One chair with repair to leg. Small veneer loss to the back of at least two chairs. Minor surface wear such as scuffs and light scratches throughout.
