The body of plain, flaring form, with s-form spout, stepped domed lid, and carved walnut handle. On one side, an extensive engraved oval laurel leaf wreath enclosing a banded sheaf of wheat over a banderole. Probably for a member of the Fair family.
Near right side of handle, upper edge, marked with script capital RB, lower case g, lion passant, etc. Underside scratch incised M W and more faintly, JG/1168
Approximate dimensions: 8 3/4 inches high. Approximate weight includes wood handle: 718 grams..
