Four Nippon Porcelain Egyptomania Orientalist Vessels

Circa 1922 - 1925.
Three two-handled vases and a tapering, straight-sided cylindrical ewer. The first vase, painted in polychrome enamels with a continuous scene of irises blooming and in bud by water flying birds, under a four-tiered geometric band to neck, above a similar border decorated with stylized swags garlands, all in pastel hues and gilding. Largest vase with stylized geometric motifs and palmette leaves reserved in cartouches above swagged garlands, squared hexagonal panels with stylized flowers in vases, on round foot. Third vase, a flaring straight-sided cylindrical example, painted in vivid pastels with a band of stylized geometric motifs, double gilt handles, and with poppies continuously to body, over waisted round foot. The ewer with a pseudo-Asian theme, with deep blue and red stylized fretwork reserved on faux shagreen ground, alternating with Orientalist geometric motifs of wavy gilt and blue. All of the vessels with raised gilt faux pearls, handles, rouletted gilt to last.
The first three with green transfer-printed marks for Morimura Nippon, Hand Painted, leaves and roundels. The ewer not marked.

Condition: Very good condition: Minor mis-firing dots and omissions to glaze, and gilding wear. The Poppies vase with 4 L. haircrack from rim toward body, the flaw re-gilt to exterior and with regilt handles.
