Provenance: Donald Perkins (the son of the inventor of Kool-Aid, Edwin Perkins) purchased this work for Frances Feller as an engagement gift from the dealer William A. Findlay in 1962, in Chicago, IL. William A. Findlay told Mr. Perkins that he purchased the work directly from Cortes in Paris, France. Donald and Frances were divorced and Frances took possession of the painting and married Robert Feller. Patricia Glaub ( ne Perkins) , daughter of Donald and Frances , and her husband Donald Glaub then purchased the work from Robert and Frances Feller. The work has been passed down by familial descent to the Donald J and Patricia K Glaub family trust in 2021. The piece has been in private hands since 1962.
