American Folk Art Waterolor and Theorem Type Valentine

The teorem is American the drawing either American or British.
Circa 1840 - 1860.
Watercolor and pen on paper of a young girl in a blue dress, holding a pink rose, with a blue beaded necklace, on a needlepoint carpet in a mahogany frame the valentine stencilled and painted on paper with a pink rose above mirrored stems and leaves, enclosing the penned poem I have seen other faces / But none so sweet as thine / I have tested other lips / So please except this valentine. Signed, lower right, J. H. Homer. under shaped mat, in oval giltwood beaded frame.
Approximate dimensions: 9 1/2 inches square the watercolor the valentine 8 x 10 3/4 inches.
Condition: Minor dirt and discoloration to the watercolor, left side, center. crease to valentine, and light foxing. The mat must be made with acidic paper, as there is typical discoloration around the edges of its shaped surround. Chips to frame.
