Spanish and Continental.
Late 18th Century, the stand late 20th Century. Some of the gilt metal decorations to the vargueo may be later than the chest date.
The chest with gilt metal strapwork, side handles decorations and lock revealing 18 sliding drawers, each with parquetry inlaid fronts, with gilt metal shell pulls. On a later Gothic-style finely-carved and turned mahogany stand.
