MANFRED KARL EBERHARDT (German/American, 1930-2020), Double Spiral I, 2015, marble Sculpture on Base. (approximate dimensions - inner spiral: 61 H x 3 1/2 in Diameter inches, outer spiral: 61 H x 10 in diameter inches, base: 19 3/4 H x 19 3/4 W x 19 3/4 L inches); inscribed signature and date on lower edge of outer spiral. Provenance: This work came from the late Dr. Manfred Karl Eberhardt's studio in San Jose, CA. Exhibition History: Dr. Eberhardt participated in several art exhibitions: beginning in 1986, a group exhibition at the Escuela de Artes Plas[cas, in San Juan, Puerto Rico; in 1996, a solo exhibition, "Glasperlenspiel," in San Juan, Puerto Rico and in 2007, 2009 and 2011, at juried sculpture exhibitions at Santa Clara City Hall, in Santa Clara, California. One of his favorite sculptures, "Life Started in the Ocean," stands at the entrance of the School of Nursing at the University of California San Jose Campus, where his beloved Marlowe studied. Condition: Abrasion marks throughout, surface dust, stains, and chipped marble at lower edge by signature. A part of the lower end of outer spiral has been glued. Ecuadorian Olga Fisch Folklore Rug. Human and animal figures on cream ground, woven in reds, yellow, green, cream, browns, reds. 'O. Fisch' signature to one corner, label to underside corner. {Approximate dimensions: 3 feet 1 inch x 3 feet 11 inches.}. Condition: Some darkening to cream ground, several small spot stains. Very slight pile loss to one corner.
